FINTRAC consists of just over 500 employees with unique employment opportunities in the following fields: regulatory compliance, financial intelligence, policy development, international relations, and information management and technology – all with one goal in mind: to be a key leader in the fight against money laundering and terrorist activity financing.

We pride ourselves on being an employer that maximizes and supports hybrid work, equipping our employees with the tools and devices they need to succeed and collaborate with colleagues and business partners across the country.

Headquarters: FINTRAC headquarters are located in downtown Ottawa. Approximately 85% of our employees occupy positions at this location.

Regional offices: Our three regional offices are located in Montréal, Toronto and Vancouver to facilitate our work with reporting entities across the country.

FINTRAC’s diversity and inclusion program goes beyond the requirements of the Employment Equity Act. We have a passionate Employment Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion Champion who raises employee awareness, recommends learning opportunities, and promotes participation in various events.

FINTRAC is a member of the 50-30 Challenge, where organizations aspire to achieve gender parity (50% women and/or non-binary people) and significant representation (30% equity deserving groups – visible minorities, people with disabilities, members of the 2SLGBTQ+ community and/or gender and sexual minorities, and/or as a member of Indigenous Peoples) on boards and/or senior management positions. At FINTRAC, we believe that success happens when we embrace the vast range of experiences and perspectives every individual brings to the table. Our Employment Equity, Diversity and Inclusion Strategy, spanning from April 2023 to March 2026, includes a variety of commitments in order to move forward together. Diversity and inclusion is top of mind for our executive cadre, who have all elected to sign the Pledge for Diversity and Inclusion. Bilingualism: We make it a priority to maintain a work environment where the use of both official languages is promoted and celebrated, under the leadership of our dedicated and passionate Official Languages Champion. Positions have a variety of language requirements, which are outlined in the job descriptions. We are pleased to offer programs that enable interested employees to develop their second language skills, such as part- and full-time language training, an informal language buddy program, and the development of our very own internal language school. Our strong bilingual capacity helps us interact more effectively with a broad range of partners, both nationally and internationally.

Canadian HR Reporter’s Innovative HR Teams 2023 Award

Our very own People, Culture and Workplace Sector (PCW) is this year’s recipient of the Canadian HR Reporter’s Innovative HR Teams 2023 Award.

They were recognized for breaking boundaries to move the HR profession forward by taking a progressive approach to recruitment! While there are many FINTRAC HR projects to be proud of, PCW was recognized for its excellent work with the Treasury Board of Canada Secretariat’s Office of Public Service Accessibility and a non-profit organization Specialisterne. As partners for this neurodiversity initiative, our work facilitated and propelled the recruitment and retention of individuals on the autism spectrum, or with similar neurodiversities (neurodivergent) in professional positions.
